Gabe Grandcolas pitched a complete game, and Santa Barbara High’s baseball team took advantage of seven walks and five hit batters to beat Boulder Creek, Ariz., 12-2, in its second pool play game at the Coach Bob Invitational in Phoenix on Tuesday.
The game was shortened to 6 innings by the 10-run rule.
The big blows by the Don included a 2-run home run off the bat of Bryce Morison, doubles by Grancdolas and Harry Parker, the latter driving in three runs, and a two-run single by Skyler Sabado to reach the 10-run advantage in the sixth.
Grandcolas struck out out five Jaguars, allowing only 4 hits and walking one in improving to 3-0.
The Dons improved to 8-1 overall while Boulder Creek dropped to 8-10.
