Dos Pueblos committed six errors and lost a one-run game to Camarillo, when the Scorpions scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning Thursday in the Easton Baseball Tournament.
Nick Noggle hit a two-run homer for DP the top of the seventh to tie the score at 6-6. But Camarillo got the lead-off runner on in the bottom of the inning, sacrificed him to second and scored the game winner on a two-out single to center field for a 7-6 decision.
“Our defense dropped the ball in this one,” DP coach Nick Katzenstein said. “If we play catch, we come out on the other end. Offensively, we did what it took to win the ball game.”
Dos Pueblos had a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning. Camarillo, capitalizing on errors, scored five in the bottom of the inning.
Drake Hawn, Noggle, Dustin Demeter and Jesse Speier each had two hits for DP, which outhit Camarillo 13-9.
