Bishop Diego pounded out 14 hits and rolled to a 12-2 win over visiting Buckley in its second game of the Southern California Invitational baseball tournament on Wednesday.
The Cardinals jumped on Buckley for four runs in the first inning en route to their second straight win.
Scott Mandrell went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Matt Selman had two doubles and drove in three runs to pace Bishop’s offense. Other Cardinals will multiple hits were Aidan Williams (2-4), Nolan Tooley (2-2) and Matt Shotwell (2-4).
R.J. Cordeiro pitched four innings to pick up the victory. He struck out five and allowed three hits. Selman and Williams finished out the game on the mound.
Bishop returns to action Thursday night against Viewpoint at Birmingham High.
