San Marcos opened its boys golf season with a 392-396 win over Oak Park on Monday at Sandpiper Golf Course.
Niels Andersen and Bennett Reichard both shot 5-over 77 to lead the Royals. Brandon Resnick of Oak Park was the match medalist with a 76.
“This is a great first step for the season,” San Marcos coach Aaron Solis said. “We still need to continue to improve and get our overall team score lower, but this is a fabulous place to start.
“We’re counting on a lot of younger players this season and they did a fantastic job today.”
