Brandon Crane led Santa Barbara High’s boys golf team at the Coyote Invitational on Monday at Calabasas Country Club.
Crane carded an 80, followed by Austin Coombs at 87, Fabio Rodriguez at 88, and Eli Lux’s 91. The Coyote Invite is a four-man team format. The team score of 346 was good for 11th place in the 19-school field.
“The course played tough,” reported Dons coach Will Spratt. “The rough was very deep and the greens were extremely firm. The team was mentally tough all day but lacked the shot making ability necessary to compete for this title.”
The Dons travel to Goleta on Tuesday for their Channel League opener against Dos Pueblos at Glen Annie.
