Carpinteria took on a powerful Oak Park team and dropped a 25-14, 25-11, 25-17 decision in a Tri-Valley League volleyball match on Tuesday.
The Warriors (0-4) were led by Victor Saldana with five kills, Luis Ceja added four kills and setter Jesus Ortega had 16 assists.
“The first half of the first game we played as well as we have all year, tied at 11-11,” said Carpinteria coach Marc Denitz. “The problem is there is the second half and our inexperience shows up. Oak Park is one of the top teams in California, and we get better when we play very good teams. We will be better next match.”
