Cate had passing problems and dropped a boys volleyball match against Malibu on Wednesday night. The set scores were 25-21, 19-25, 25-15, 25-17.
“In the third and fourth games, we couldn’t get it going with our service receive,” Cate coach Greg Novak said. “Malibu scored a lot of points on our passing.”
Mo Batal paced the Cate attack with nine kills, while Spencer Towle added eight kills and Morgan Pierce five.
Cate (1-1) plays at Nordhoff on Friday.
