Cate opened its boys volleyball season with a five-set win over Channel Islands on Wednesday. The set scores were 25-22 23-25, 16-25, 25-15, 15-13.
The Rams were tough from the service line, ripping off 14 service aces. Jamie Jared led the team with four aces.
Morgan Pierce paced the attack with 20 kills, while Mo Aatal added 11 kills.
“It was good to start off on a nice win,” Cate coach Greg Novak said. “The team looks good. We’ll provide some good competition this year.”
