Laguna Blanca swept in doubles en route to a 12-6 boys tennis win over Besant Hill on Wednesday.
The teams of Martin Barnick/Dalton Smith and Henry Farrell/Conrad Perry finished 3-0, while Phillip Hicks partnered with Thomas Sloan for two wins and a third with Max Mayrock.
Ben Furukawa went unbeaten in singles, improving his season record to 8-1.
The Owls play a big match on Friday at Redlands High School.
“Redlands lost to eventual winner JW North in last year’s D4 CIF semifinal round and are returning nearly everyone from that team so they will be tough,” Laguna coach Trevor Thorpe said. “I set this match up with Redlands because I felt that our team, as well as Cate and Santa Ynez, got snubbed in CIF seeding last year. Hopefully this match will shed at least some light on where we stand compared to a few of the teams down south. We also enjoy the challenge of competing against other seeded teams in our division.”
