Carpinteria suffered its second straight boys tennis loss, falling against Cate, 16-2, on Wednesday.
“Yesterday’s match against Malibu left us a little bitter because we know we could have done more,” Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant said. “Today, however, we were just outplayed by a great team. We had to do a few last minute adjustments due to injuries and sickness but the result still would have been as humbling.”
In doubles, Carpinteria’s No. 2 team of Ruben Andrade/Bryan Taira split its two sets. Ben
Murray/Jonathan Cleek went 1-2.
