Bishop Diego got sweeps from Spencer Ekola and the doubles team of Dylan Perez and Jose Pacheco en route to an 11-7 Frontier League boys tennis win over Villanova on Thursday.
Ekola didn’t drop a game in raising his season record to 9-0. Perez and Pacheco improved to 5-1 on the season.
Cameron Krul and Thomas Dawson Karpf won their first set, rallying from a 4-2 deficit to claim the deciding point in the match.
“The doubles teams really stepped it up today,” Bishop coach Debbie Ekola said. “We wouldn’t have pulled out the win without their extra effort.”
