Aaron Brown’s passion and dedication to Santa Barbara Special Olympics was recognized Monday as he was presented the Maho and Prentice Sports Figure of the Month award at the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon.
Brown has been a longtime basketball coach with Special Olympics, and he is currently chair of the organization’s leadership council.
“He’s been known as a tireless champion for Special Olympics,” said award presenter Chad Prentice.
Prentice recited a quote that was fitting for Brown: “Volunteers don’t get paid not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless.”
He added: “Aaron Brown indeed is priceless to the many people he supports.”
Brown is the sponsor and presenter of the Special Olympics Athlete of the Month award.
