SBCC went 5-1 in singles on Tuesday at Antelope Valley en route to its first women’s tennis victory of the year, 8-1.
Teresa Downey used her big left-hand serve to sweep Melissa Coyoy 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and teamed with Monica Kunz to win the No. 1 doubles 8-2.
SBCC improved to 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the WSC.
The Vaqueros went 3-0 in doubles, highlighted by an 8-1 triumph in the No. 3 spot by Sophie Fink and Lisa Van Dijk.
The Vaqueros travel to Bakersfield on Thursday.
