Hannah Rogers’ 16 points and eight rebounds helped Bishop Diego’s girls basketball team past Grace Brethren 42-19 on Saturday in a Frontier League game.
The first-place Cardinals improve to 7-1 in league play.
Rogers scored 10 of her 16 points in the first quarter as Bishop Diego jumped out to an early 16-4 lead. Cardinals head coach Jeff Burich thought his team did a good job sharing the ball, citing six assists in the quarter.
Jordyn Lilly totaled 10 points, six rebounds and four assists in the game.
Bishop Diego has three important games coming up starting with Santa Paula on Tuesday. The Cardinals then host Carpinteria on Thursday before traveling to La Reina on Saturday. Santa Paula and La Reina are at the top of the league standings with the Cardinals.
