Laguna Blanca lost its regular season final against Dunn, 5-2, on Wednesday.
Ben Rios scored off a Connor Curran assist to give the Owls a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute. But Dunn responded with two quick goals to take a 2-1 halftime lead. The Earwigs added three more goals before Luke Smillie put away rebound of a shot by Curran in the 78th minute.
“We connected a lot of passes,” Laguna Blanca coach Daniel Torres said. “Both goals were scored on build ups from the back.”
Torres said Laguna Blanca will petition for an at-large bid in the CIF playoffs. The pairings will be announced Monday.
