Dos Pueblos completed a solid regular boys soccer season with a 5-2 win over visiting Ventura on Thursday in a Channel League match.
The Chargers, who are 16-3-3 and 5-1-2 in league, will enter the CIF Division 1 playoffs as the No. 2 team from the league.
Jessie Jimenez recorded three assists and Julio Rubio had two goals to pace DP.
Jimenez assisted on the first goal, hitting a corner kick that defender Jon Sigurdson finished with a header at the near post in the seventh minute.
Ventura got the equalizer off of its own corner kick in the 39th minute.
The Chargers erupted for four goals in the second half. The first one was started by Jorge Lopez, who played a diagonal ball to Julio Rubio. Rubio took a quick touch and ripped a shot into the back of the net in the 54th minute.
Jimenez intercepted a Ventura free kick, carried the ball and passed it forward to his fellow sophomore Manny Nwosu who screamed down the middle of the field and put it past a sliding goal keeper in the 58th minute of the second half.
In the 65th minute, Jimenez completed his assist hat trick as he played a long pass to Rubio, who beat the defense before playing it past the goalie as he was coming out to try and slide tackle him.
Ventura cut the margin to 4-2 in the 70th minute.
The Chargers put the game out of reach when Lopez got the ball from about 30 yards out, turned and ripped it beyond the goalie, catching everyone in the stadium off guard.
