Top-seeded Trinity Classical Academy opened the game with a 10-0 run and romped past Laguna Blanca 59-38 in a CIF Division 6 boys basketball semifinal game Friday night in Santa Clarita.
Trinity Classical (17-8) is in the championship game for the second straight year.
Laguna Blanca finishes the season at 17-8.
Andrew Vignolo led the Owls with nine points, while Spenser Wyatt and Pierce O’Donnell each scored eight points for the Owls.
Sophomore guard Josh Mumper scored a game-high 19 points, including five three-pointers, to lead Trinity.
“We ran into a better team,” Laguna Blanca head coach Sal Rodriguez told the Santa Clarita Valley Signal. “They took us out of our offense, and they were really intense. I hope they win the CIF title next weekend because they’re an excellent team.”
