Buena had five players score in double figures in beating Dos Pueblos, 60-43, in a second-place battle in the Channel League Wednesday night.
The Bulldogs take over sole possession of second with a 5-5 record. DP falls to 4-6 in league and 8-14 overall.
“Buena came out strong and shot the ball well,” DP coach Joe Zamora said. “We missed a lot of shots and struggled to score on the road. Colby Hill gave us a spark in the second half on the defensive end.”
Erik Olson scored 13 points and Dayne Gardiner added 12 points to lead the Chargers.
Buena led 16-7 after the first period and 34-16 at halftime.
Dos Pueblos plays host to San Marcos on Friday.
