Dos Pueblos moved into a second-place tie in the Channel League with a 61-56 boys basketball victory over Ventura on Monday night.
The Chargers are tied with San Marcos and Buena at 4-5.
Brandon Burkhardt scored 15 points and freshman Anthony Trujillo and Dayne Gardiner added 12 points apiece to lead the Chargers.
“Erik Olson did a good job on the boards and on the defensive end with four blocks,” said DP coach Joe Zamora. “Sophomore Jayson Williams also did a good job running the offense and stopping Dustin Houck for Ventura.”
Trevor LaCount scored 17 points for Ventura (1-7 in league).
Dos Pueblos (8-13) plays at Buena on Wednesday night.
