Bishop Diego couldn’t get anything going against a high-pressure Oak Park defense and suffered a 59-27 defeat in a Tri-Valley League boys basketball game on Wednesday.
“They played with a lot of pressure and we didn’t shoot well,”Bishop coach Dean Prophet said. “It wasn’t very pretty.”
Michael Alvarez was the catalyst for Oak Park, scoring 26 points.
“We knew we had to stop him and we couldn’t stop him,” said Prophet.
Nick Busch scored seven points, all in the second quarter, to lead Bishop Diego (14-9, 5-3). Oak Park is 4-4 in league play.
