Spenser Wyatt and Stephen McCaffery combined for 36 points, and Laguna Blanca went on a 15-0 run to start the third quarter and pulled away from Apple Valley Christian, 71-57, in a CIF Division 6 boys basketball second-round playoff game on Friday
Wyatt scored 19 points, including eight in the third quarter when the Owls took over the game. McCaffery finished with 17 points, Andrew Vignolo had 10 points and Jack Kinsler had 11 points and 10 assists.
After being down 24-23 at halftime, Laguna Blanca put on a half-court trap in the third quarter to force several turnovers.
Apple Valley Christian never got closer than eight points the rest of the game.
Laguna Blanca will play L.A. Adventist in the quarterfinals on Tuesday. The game site will be determined by a coin flip.
