“You can really see that the girls wanted to win tonight,” DP coach Hugh Hollis said. “They played hard and were a step quicker than Santa Barbara. I am happy for the girls because they really wanted to win this one after losing to Santa Barbara earlier in the season.”
The Chargers improve their record to 13-3-4 and 2-2-1 in league. Santa Barbara is 1-3-1 in Channel League.
Dons coach Jeff Johnson said his team did a good job possessing the ball but didn’t mount any dangerous scoring opportunities.
“We probably passed the ball better and out possessed them but that doesn’t matter when you don’t get one shot off on goal,” he said. “We were never goal dangerous and didn’t step up and make big plays.”
