Life in the Tri-Valley League has been tough for the Carpinteria girls soccer team.
The Warriors turned in a good effort but couldn’t keep pace with Santa Paula, losing 6-1.
Again, we showed a tremendous amount of heart, never quitting or giving up,” Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant said. “All of the players fought to the end and for that I am proud of their efforts. We played hard, we played well, but similar to the other TVL games, we are just overmatched.”
Alexa Benitez scored Carpinteria’s only goal on a 20-yard shot just before halftime. That made it a 2-1 game.
Santa Paula scored four goals on seven shots in the second half.
The Warriors fall to 5-7-1 and 0-5 in the TVL.
