Buena score two early goals and made them stand up for a 2-0 win over Santa Barbara in a Channel League girls soccer match onTuesday.
The Bulldogs, ranked sixth in CIF Division 2, scored in the 4th and 12th minute.
“We made two costly errors and gave up soft goals,” Santa Barbara coach Jeff Johnson said. “We made some changes and the second half was 0-0. We had five corners at the end of the game but came up short on all of them.”
The Dons started freshman goalkeeper Brandi Lentini and she played well in her debut.
“She made 12 quality saves on the night and had a great attitude during her first ever varsity game,” said Johnson.
The Dons are 7-4-5 overall and 1-1-1 in league. Their next match is against San Marcos in the Super Saturday Soccer Showdown at Peabody Stadium. Kickoff is 5 p.m.
