Bishop Diego displayed some solid finishing in a 6-2 girls soccer win at Villnova on Thursday.
Rachel Uribe-Raya scored two first-half goals, Annelise Morando tallied a pair in the second half and Jill Giannini had three assists and a goal for the Cardinals, who improve to 7-4-2 and 2-1-1 in the Frontier League.
“We had a few good crosses in front of the goal and the girls were there to finish and put the ball in the back of the net,” Bishop coach Tessa Binkley said. “Our defense was strong from the back and started a lot of our attacks.”
Uribe-Ray scored in the 13th and 31st minutes to give Bishop a 2-0 lead. Jessica Brosnan made it 3-0 with a goal in the 36th minute.
Giannini scored in the 51st minute and Morando put her goals away in the 66th and 70th minute.
Veronica Morones, Kate Giannini, Morando and Bella Gregson each had one assist.
Kate Giannini and Francesca Nash each played a half in goal and played well, said Binkley.
The Cardinals play host to Mission Prep on Saturday.
