Top-ranked Santa Barbara High recorded 24 steals and grabbed 18 offensive rebounds and rolled past San Marcos 58-21 in a Channel League girls basketball game at the Thunderhut on Tuesday night.
The Dons, the No. 1 team in CIF Division 3AA, roared out to a 31-7 lead by halftime against an overmatched San Marcos squad.
Michaila Miller had a solid game for the Dons with 10 points and four rebounds. Alyssa Cosio also played well, said Santa Barbara coach Andrew Butcher.
Amber Melgoza was the leading scorer with 17 points. Jocelin Petatan added seven points and handed out seven assists.
Santa Barbara improves to 18-3 and 3-1 in league. The Dons play at DP on Thursday.
