Hannah Rogers set the tone for the Bishop Diego girls basketball team in a 41-20 win at Carpinteria on Thursday night.
Rogers scored 10 points in the first quarter, and the Cardinals took a 14-5 lead. The Bishop post player finished the game with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Jordyn Lilly was all over the court, scoring 12 points, making seven steals, grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out seven assists.
The Cardinals (11-5, 4-0) also played well at the defensive end. “Morgan Wallace and Sam Gaasch did a great job defensively on their guards up top,” said Bishop coach Jeff Burich.
Bishop’s defensive pressure made it tough for Carpinteria to get anything going.
Tori Kelley and Marcey Frazer each scored six points to lead the Warriors. Kelley also had seven rebounds and Frazer grabbed five.
