Three players scored in double figures, leading Cate’s girls basketball team to a 52-47 victory over Nordhoff on Friday.
“The girls played their most complete game of the season,” assistant coach Jay Dorion said of the win. “Needless to say, this was a very satisfying win against a very competitive, well-coached team.”
Brittany Newsome scored 12 points and Elan Halpern and Erika Noble each had 10 points to pace the Rams’ offense.
Miriam Weiss provided a big boost in the second half with six points and 10 rebounds. Newsome added 10 rebounds, while Halpern had five boards, five assists, three steals and three blocked shots. Noble dished out five assists. Delaney Mayfield also grabbed 10 rebounds and chased Nordhoff’s best player.
