Cate faded after a close first quarter and suffered 52-26 loss to Thacher in a Condor League girls basketball game on Wednesday.
The Rams only trailed 11-9 after the first quarter but managed just two points in the second quarter and trailed by 13 at halftime.
“Baskets were hard to come by all game for the girls as we suffered through our worst shooting night of the season,” Cate assistant coach Jay Dorion said. “The girls have routinely scored 26 points or more in a half in previous games, so we will chalk this up to a cold night of shooting and get back to work against cross-town rival Carpinteria.”
Erika Noble scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds to lead Cate.
