Buena’s high-pressure defense took San Marcos out of its game, and the Bulldogs romped to a 69-15 win in a Channel League girls basketball opener on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs led 16-1 after the first quarter.
“Buena came out with lots of energy and pressure like we knew they would,”
San Marcos coach Kelly Uyesaka said. “We need to do a better job of taking care of the ball and limiting second chance points going forward.”
Hope Morrison scored six points to lead San Marcos (1-13). Holly Guzman had 10 points and three other players scored eight points for Buena (13-6).
