Tori Kelley tied her season high with 17 points and Hannah Galsterer scored a a season-best 16 points to lead Carpinteria to a 52-44 non-league girls basketball win over Villanova on Tuesday night.
“It was our best shooting night,” Carpinteria coach Dan Mercer said.
The Warriors roared to a 30-17 halftime lead, with Kelley scoring 13 of her points and Galsterer tossing in 12 in the first half.
Macey Frazer added eight points and grabbed nine rebounds and Monique Sanchez had 10 rebounds to go with her six points. Galsterer had six rebounds and Kelley dished out four assists.
“It was our best all-around game,” Mercer said. “We won at the defensive end. I’m proud of our team defense. Galsterer, Kelley and Frazer stepped up big on defense.”
Carpinteria (5-5) opens Frontier League play Thursday at Fillmore.
