Thanks to the efforts of 152 registered runners, 111 student volunteers, dozens of parents, and the generous sponsors from around the community, the first annual Elings Terrain Festival raised $4,471. Proceeds benefitted Elings Park and the cross country programs at San Marcos, Santa Barbara, and Dos Pueblos High Schools.

“As a parent of three cross country runners, I wanted to do something to give back to the sport and coaches that have done so much to my kids,” says Paul Bradford, Founder and Race Director of the Elings Terrain Festival.

Bradford continued, “it just felt right to use a running event to raise money for student athletes and bring together all three rival high schools to have fun enjoying the sport.” Bradford states that the success of the first year ensures that this will be an annual event – – providing coaches and student athletes with additional resources.

The Elings Terrain Festival is just that – – a festival. With three races (5K, 3K kids, 3K dog), live music, catered food and drinks, and fantastic weather, the event had something for every member of the family.

Each school competed for the Elings Terrain Cup (this year’s winner was San Marcos High School) based on the most registered runners affiliated with their school. To learn more about the Festival or the Cup, visit www.ElingsTerrain.com
