Bishop Diego’s girls basketball team jumped from 13th to No. 8 in the latest CIF polls released Tuesday.
The Cardinals are in Division 5AA. Their records are 11-5 overall and 4-0 in the Frontier League. Aquinas is the No. 1 team in the division.
The Santa Barbara girls retained their No. 1 ranking in Division 3AA The Dons (16-3) last week lost to Channel League rival Ventura, the No. 2 team in 1A, and beat Rio Mesa, No. 15 in Division 2A. On Thursday, they host Buena (10th in 1A) in a Channel League game.
The Santa Barbara boys (15-3) held into the No. 3 spot in the Division 3A after wins over San Marcos and Dos Pueblos. San Marcos is ranked 16th in 3AA.
The Bishop Diego boys are ranked fifth this week in the Division 5AA poll and Laguna Blanca rose up to sixth in Division 6. Providence is 14th in the division.
