Carpinteria gave up two goals in the first half and that was the difference as the Warriors fell to visiting Malibu, 2-0, in a Tri-Valley League match.
“We fought hard and didn’t go down with out a fight,” Carpinteria coach Leo Quintero said.
The Warriors (4-5-1, 0-1-1) hit the post and the crossbar.
“We were outplayed and outworked,” Quintero said. “We continue to work with our pieces of the puzzle and strive to make every day and every game, win, lose or tie, a learning experience.”
He praised the play of Oscar Trujillo and Juan Carlos Orozco.
