CJ Miller scored 24 points in 23 minutes on Saturday night as Westmont’s men’s basketball team crushed visiting UC Merced 84-59 in a non-conference game.
Miller knocked down 10 of his 17 field goal attempts and added nine rebounds, two steals and a block to his stat line. Miller is now averaging 18.9 points per game after nine games.
Daniel Carlin was also in double figures for the Warriors, who improved to 7-2 on the season. Carlin made 7-of-12 shots and totaled 16 points and 14 rebounds.
The game started out competitive as UC Merced trailed 17-16 halfway through the first half. The Warriors then went on a 14-0 run to blow the game wide open. By halftime, Westmont had built a 43-22 lead.
It was the sixth-straight victory for Westmont. The Warriors play again at home in their next game scheduled for December 14 against Simpson.
