Giselle Estrada scored the game-winner for Carpinteria in a 1-0 non-league girls soccer win over Channel Islands on Wednesday.
Kelsie Bryant started the scoring sequence with a pass to Natalie Saito. She took a few touches before finding Estrada, who buried her shot from 12 yards in the 28th minute.
Carpinteria withstood the pressure applied by Channel Islands and posted its third win of the season. The Warriors are 3-0-1.
“It was definitely a gutsy effort on our part and I was proud of the girls,” Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant said. “Our defenders, Jessica Meza, Erin Duflinger, Monica Garcia and Megan Garcia did a solid job tonight.”
