Melanie Miller scored her first career goal, and San Marcos took its first lead in match this season. But the Royals couldn’t hold the lead and finished in a 1-1 draw with San Luis Obispo in a non-league girls soccer match on Tuesday.
Miller finished a corner kick from Kaitlin Saperstein with a header in the 39th minute. San Luis Obispo scored the tying goal in the 60th minute.
“We’re patiently knocking on the door,” San Marcos coach Macie Berlin said of getting that first win. The Royals are 0-2-3.
San Marcos is back in action Wednesday against Cabrillo.
