Things didn’t go right for the Santa Barbara High girls soccer team on Wednesday night, and the Dons suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of Pacifica on Wednesday. It was their first loss of the season.
“We made too many mistakes and they punished us, and we didn’t convert our numerous chances. That was the storyline,” Santa Barbara coach Jeff Johnson said.
The Dons gave up goals in the 10th and 15th minutes. They created good chances to get back in the game but couldn’t convert them.
“We had 8-12 chances from 12 yards away and missed everyone or kicked the ball to the goalie,” Johnson said. “We did not capitalize on fantastic opportunities that we had over and over. We have not been on this side of the coin for the entire season so it will be important how we respond,” said Johnson.
