Hannah Brisby fed Hannah Ross and Jackie Lopez for goals, and Santa Barbara notched a shutout on the road, blanking Santa Ynez 2-0 in a girls soccer match on Tuesday night.
The Dons improve to 5-0-2.
Ross fielded a cross from Brisby and banged it in at the far post in the 38th minute for a 1-0 lead. On the second goal, Brisby hit a free kick deep into the box and Lopez headed it past the goalkeeper.
Santa Barbara then held off Santa Ynez.
“Santa Ynez tried to play and did some really good things,” Santa Barbara coach Jeff Johnson said. “They never quit and were very organized.”
He added: “Overall, we won, recorded another clean sheet and found ways to win but we were very inconsistent in certain areas of the field that we must do a better job with if we want to win the big games. Our players have to start being more accountable for the lack of consistency in these last two matches.”
