A shorthanded Bishop Diego girls soccer team ran into a strong Sierra Canyon squad and lost 6-0 on the opening day of the Grace Brethren Winter Classic on Thursday.
It was Bishop’s first loss of the season.
“We were missing players and they were a good team with 13 subs,” Bishop coach Tessa Binkley said. “They outplayed us. We’re looking to learn from this loss and concentrate on the next game.”
The next game for the Cardinals (2-1-1) is Friday at Oak Park.
