Playing in the Green Division of the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions, Carpinteria High’s girls basketball coach Dan Mercer had a positive report despite the Warriors losing their final two contests.
The Warriors fell to Righetti 43-24 and 60-28 to Santa Monica.
“I’m glad we competed in this tournament, the kids got a lot out of it,” Mercer said.
The Warriors (3-5) are playing four freshmen and two sophomores in their rotation.
Tori Kelley averaged 11 points and three steals in four tournament games. Harmony Reed pulled down 26 rebounds in the final two games and averaged double figures for the tournament.
Carpinteria returns to the court on January 4 against San Marcos.
