Jordyn Lilly carried Bishop Diego into the championship game of the Avalon Girls Basketball Tournament on Catalina Island.
Lilly scored 23 and 34 points in a pair of victories Friday. The Cardinals defeated Central Valley Christian, 40-30, and came back later to defeat host Avalon, 68-43. They advance to the title game against Mission Prep on Saturday afternoon.
The 34 points against Avalon were a career high for Lilly, who has scored 87 points in three tournament games. She also had 10 rebounds.
Hannah Rogers added 12 points, grabbed 14 boards and blocked two shot in the Avalon game. Colleen Duley added eight points. The Cardinals outscored Avalon 34-17 in the second half, including 12-3 in the fourth quarter.
In the win over Central Valley Christian, Lilly added 11 rebounds to go with her 23 points. Rogers pounded the boards for 13 rebounds and scored six points, and Sam Gaasch scored six points for Bishop (6-3).
