Jordyn Lilly scored 11 of her game-high 24 points in the first quarter, helping Bishop Diego roar out to a big lead en route to a 51-27 win over Providence in the Bishop Diego/Carpinteria girls basketball tournament on Thursday.
The Cardinals led 20-4 in the first eight minutes and never looked back.
Lilly had eight rebounds, four assists and six steals to go along with her points. Ali Everson chipped in 10 points.
Bishop coach Jeff Burich gave props to the defensive effort of Sam Gaasch.
“She hustled on defense and was all over the court,” said Burich.
The Cardinals (3-1) play Santa Clara on Friday at 7 p.m.
