Jordyn Lilly tore through Cate’s defense for 28 points to lead Bishop Diego to a 48-24 win over Cate on Wednesday in the Bishop Diego/Carpinteria girls basketball tournament.
“Jordyn did a good job in transition, leading the break and outrunning everybody and getting other players open or creating on her own,” said Bishop coach Jeff Burich.
Lilly also had six steals. Hannah Rogers played a solid game, scoring six points and grabbing eight rebounds.
“It was a total team effort. Everyone contributing scoring-wise and rebounding-wise,” said Burich.
He cited the defensive work of K’lei Martinez
Bishop continues tournament play on Thursday against Providence.
