Freshman Camila Casanueva scored a career-high 17 points to lead the Dos Pueblos girls basketball team to a 59-48 victory over Westlake in the opening game of the Santa Barbara County Challenge at Sovine Gym.
The Chargers led by one at halftime before pulling away in the third quarter.
“We wore them down with our full-court pressure, and Camila hit some 3-pointers,” DP coach Phil Sherman said. Casaueva scored 10 points in the third quarter.
Paige Huyck played a strong game with nine points, 14 rebounds and five blocked shots.
The Chargers (5-3) are back in action on Thursday against Lompoc.
