It was smooth sailing for the Bishop Diego girls basketball team on the first day of a trip to Catalina Island for the Avalon tournament.
Jordyn Lilly poured in 30 points to lead the Cardinals to a 58-22 win over Baugham on Thursday. Lilly also grabbed six rebounds and had five assists. Ali Everson added 10 points and freshman K’lei Martinez contributed six points and played good defense, said coach Jeff Burich.
“We played great team defense, rebounded and ran in transition for easy fast breaks,” Burich added.
The Cardinals (4-3) play two games on Friday. They take on Central Valley Christian at 1 p.m. and Avalon at 3 p.m.
