Peter Ruiz recorded a hat trick, and Santa Barbara High bounced back from a tough loss and routed Cabrillo 6-0 at the Buena Holiday Classic boys soccer tournament on Friday.
The Dons fell 1-0 to Oxnard in their first game. Both teams had 10 shots, but Santa Barbara was unable to finish its chances.
The Dons made up for it against Cabrillo. Ruiz scored three goals and Will Pritchard, Erick De La Luz and Kyle Marcotte added single goals.
Santa Barbara will play in the fifth-place semifinals against Rio Mesa.
