Conner Curran scored in the 57th minute to lift Laguna Blanca to a 2-1 season-opening boys soccer victory at Trinity Classical Academy on Wednesday in Santa Clarita.
Cooper Farrell assisted on the game-winning goal.
“It was a nice win to start the season,” said Laguna Blanca assistant coach Daniel Torres, who noted the game was played on a field that was 75 yards long and really narrow. “Playing on that field made it harder for the boys. We’re trying to open up the field and all of sudden we can’t do it.”
The Owls managed to get an early goal as Armon Ghodoussi scored on a rebound of a shot by Farrell in the fifth minute. Trinity tied the score in the 55th minute.
Laguna Blanca returns to action next Tuesday at Bishop Diego.
