Pepe Barron is making things happen for the Santa Barbara High boys soccer team.
Barron helped the Dons bounce back from an early 1-0 deficit with two assists and a goal in a 4-1 non-league win at chilly Arroyo Grande on Wednesday.
“Pepe is playing on top for us this year and is making the most of it,” Santa Barbara coach Todd Heil said. “He’s making the most of his opportunities.”
After giving up a goal in the fifth minute, the Dons struck back and equalized in the 15th minute. Peter Ruiz scored the goal off a cross from Barron.
The Dons took the lead early in the second half on a free kick by Barron.
Erick De La Luz scored his first goal of the season off a short cross from Barron.
The Dons completed the scoring in the 54th minute when Jorge Garcia-Torres jump on a loose ball after a shot by Barron was blocked by the goalkeeper.
Santa Barbara (5-1) is off until Dec. 17 when it plays its home opener against Santa Ynez.
