Spenser Wyatt scored 22 of his 27 points after halftime on Saturday as Laguna Blanca’s boys basketball team came from behind to beat Kilpatrick 67-61 in overtime.
The victory gave Laguna Blanca the Ojai Valley Classic championship.
The Owls erased a six-point deficit with 36 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Wyatt then scored six points in the extra period to secure the win.
Michael Reyes collected 21 points for Laguna Blanca, including two free throws at the end of regulation that forced overtime. Jack Kinsler, Stephen McCaffery, and Andrew Vignolo made big plays in the win.
Laguna Blanca, 3-1 on the season, plays again on Monday in the opener of the Jim Bashore Holiday Cage Classic. The Owls will see tournament host Carpinteria at 7:30 p.m.
